Jan Shultis, Founding Director


Jan Shultis is a military veteran and the founder of The Xena Project, a non-profit organization west of Houston dedicated to the mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of veterans, law enforcement and families. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Jan served around the world as a Public Affairs Officer, including in Afghanistan as an Army embed working in detention operations. Jan is a certified Peer Combat Care and Trauma Counselor through the American Association of Christian Counselors, teaches Leadership and Ethics as part of nation-wide training run by the Naval War College, and regularly trains Houston area law enforcement in de-escalation of situations involving veterans in crisis as part of The Xena Project’s community outreach efforts.. Her first book is currently in production.


Pastor Bill Hogan, Military Ministry

Bill “Hulk” Hogan is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He is a command pilot with over 3,000 hours as an instructor/evaluator pilot in the B-1B, T-3, T-37, and T-38 aircraft. He retired from active duty in 2006 to pursue a calling to ministry and attended Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, earning a Master’s of Divinity degree. “Hulk” is currently the Pastor of Celebrate and Community at WordServe Church in Fulshear.
